Personal Profile

Prof. Luo is the founder of microchemical technology in Tsinghua University. His research directions mainly include: (1) microchemical engineering; (2) flow chemistry; (3) intelligent microchemical system; (4) microchemical process intensification. He has published over 420 papers, authorized more than 100 invention patents, and was awarded a Second Prize of National Technological invention, a Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress, and nine provincial science and technology awards.

Research Directions

1. Microchemical Engineering

The micro-scale mixing, dispersion, transfer and reaction based on the microstructure elements; The flow, interface, transfer and reaction of multiphase flow system; The scale and interfacial effect and mechanism in the microchemical process; The integration and microreactor scale-up of micro-structure elements.

2. Flow Chemistry

The principles and applications of flow chemistry in synthesis of nano materials, polymer materials, pharmaceutical intermediates and other high-end fine chemicals.

3. Intelligent Microchemical System

The intelligent synthesis based on microchemical technology, automatic control and artificial intelligence technology.

4. Microchemical Process Intensification

The principles, equipment and applications of process intensification in a microchemical system.
