Personal Profile

Professor WANG Tao received his B.Sc. and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at Department of Chemical Engineering, Tsinghua University in 1984 and 1989 respectively. He joined the Department in 1994. Prior to that he worked at Laboratory of Process Equipment, Delft University of Technology as a postdoctoral research fellow. During 1998 to 2000, he was a visiting scholar in Research Center of Supercritical Fluid Technology, Tohoku University, Japan. He was promoted as a full professor in 2004.

Research Interests

His research specializes in the field of Supercritical Fluids, Ionic Liquids, Green Chemical Processes and Products, and Nanostructured Materials. His works focus on the following aspects:

1. Fundamentals of dissolution, transport and reaction in supercritical fluids;

2. Supercritical fluid technology, including extraction, reaction, drying and material processing;

3. Preparation and applications of ionic liquids;

4. Nanostructured materials;

5. Nanomaterials for printed and flexible electronics.
